Like “When the Artist is Away, the Mice Will Play,” this drawing was inspired by the old Tom & Jerry cartoons. I also credit my wife for coming up with the ‘purrfect’ title! In the drawing, real cats are tormenting a drawn pug. Although he’s in a drawing, the pug still realizes what’s happening as the cats tear the paper, nearly decapitating him. If you look closely, you can see the anxiety in his eyes!
